Community Engagement
The University of Utah and its partner Interethnic Health Alliance initiated base-line data gathering on health, economic and social challenges affecting rural families in three study areas. In 2010, 128 women and 23 men were individually interviewed. In 2011, information was gathered from seven women's group. General findings from the surveys are used to make recommendations for enhancing the well-being of the communities through micro loans, access to clean water etc.
